Mun Mazhalai

Age Criteria: 4+ Years

Prerequisite: No basic qualification is required.


Syllabus: 

In this level, students will learn:

About 50 simple picture words and able to identify vowels.


Content includes: Stories, Songs, Aathichudi, Thirukkural & Simple picture words, Numbers 1 to 10.


Speaking: Students will be provided equal opportunities to speak in front of the class about chosen topics to develop their PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS.

 

Achievement: By the end of the Tamil School year, each student should be able to know vowels. Count 1 to 10. Knowing the names of vegetables, fruits, animals and body parts. Practice tracing and coloring pictures in a simple way. Pronouncing words & sentences clearly. 




Mazhalai

Age Criteria: 5+ Years

Prerequisite: No basic qualification is required.


Syllabus:  

In this level, students will learn:

To identify and write all Tamil vowels and learn 80 simple picture words.


Content includes: Stories, Songs, Aathichudi, Thirukkural & Simple picture words, Numbers 1 to 20.


Speaking: Students will be provided equal opportunities to speak in front of the class about chosen topics to develop their PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS.


Achievement: By the end of the Tamil School year, each student should be able to identify and write vowels. Count 1 to 20. Knowing the names of vegetables, fruits, animals and body parts, shapes etc. Pronouncing words & sentences clearly. 




Nilai One

Age Criteria: 6+ Years

Prerequisite: Basic knowledge about Tamil vowels. 


Syllabus: 

In this level, students will learn:

To identify and write Tamil vowels and consonants and learn 100 simple picture words.


Content includes: Stories, Songs, Aathichudi, Thirukkural & Simple picture words, Numbers 1 to 20.


Speaking: Students will be provided equal opportunities to speak in front of the class about chosen topics to develop their PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS.


Achievement: By the end of the Tamil School year, each student should be able to identify and write vowels and consonants. Count 1 to 20. Knowing the names of vegetables, fruits, animals and body parts, shapes, vehicles, flowers etc. Pronouncing words & sentences clearly. 



Nilai Two

Age Criteria: 7+ Years

Prerequisite: Able to Read and Write Tamil vowels & consonants.


Syllabus: 

In this level, students will learn:

To identify and write all Tamil Letters and be able to read words letter by letter and be able to write simple words .


Content includes: Stories, Songs, Aathichudi, Thirukkural & Picture words, Numbers 1 to 100. 


Speaking: Students will be provided equal opportunities to speak in front of the class about chosen topics to develop their PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS.


Achievement: By the end of the Tamil School year, each student should be able to identify and write all Tamil Letters. Count 1 to 100. Knowing the names of a variety of day to day usage nouns like vegetables, fruits, animals and body parts, shapes, vehicles, flowers etc. Pronouncing and reading words & small phrases sentences clearly. 



Nilai Three

Age Criteria: 8+ Years

Prerequisite: Able to read and write all the Tamil letters and small words in Tamil language.


Syllabus: 

In this level, students will learn:

Able to read and write simple sentences in Tamil.


Writing:

Creating simple sentences.


Content includes:

Lessons, Stories, Songs, Aathichudi, Thirukkural & Vocabulary words

Grammar:

எழுத்து வகைகள், ஒருமை மற்றும் பன்மை, எதிர்நிலைகள், பாலினம், காலம், பெயர் மற்றும் வினைச்சொற்கள்.

By the end of the Tamil School year, each student should be able to read short sentences fluently in Tamil. Also, the student is required to do a presentation, in front of an audience, to develop their PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS.


Nilai Four

Age Criteria: 9+ Years

Prerequisite: Able to read and write simple sentences in Tamil, Knowledge of basic grammar in the language.


Syllabus: 

In this level, students will learn:

Able to read and write simple and complex sentences in Tamil.


Writing:

Sentence formation, Introducing SOV pattern,comprehension.


Content includes:

Lessons, Stories, Songs, Poetries, Aathichudi, Thirukkural & Vocabulary words


Grammar:

மாற்றுப் பெயர்கள், மூவிடமாற்றுப்பெயர்கள், சுட்டுப்பெயர்கள், வினாப் பெயர்கள், SOV வாக்கிய முறை, வினை வடிவங்கள்.


Achievement:

Students will be able to read a passage and then comprehend the passage in Tamil. Also, the student is required to do a presentation, in front of an audience, to develop their PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS.


Nilai Five

Age Criteria: 10+ Years

Prerequisite: Able to read and write simple and complex sentences in Tamil.

Knowledge of basic grammar in the language.

 

Syllabus: 

In this level, students will learn:

Able to read a simple passage and can comprehend in Tamil.


Writing:

Preparing them to write short stories.


Content includes:

Lessons, Stories, Songs, Poetries, Aathichudi, Thirukkural & Vocabulary words


Grammar:

Introducing (SOV) எழுவாய், பயனிலை, செயப்படுபொருள், தொடர் காலங்கள், வல்லின மிகுதல், வேற்றுமை உருபுகள் and know usage – ability to use in sentences, பெயரடை, வினையடை.


Achievement:

Students will develop Integrated Language Arts skills, applied in Tamil. Also, the student is required to do a presentation, in front of an audience, to develop their PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS.


Nilai Six

Age Criteria: 11+ Years


Pre-requisite: Able to read simple passages, comprehend and write answers in Tamil.


Syllabus: 

In this level, students will learn:

Writing:

Preparing them to write a letter/short essay/story.


Content includes:

Lessons,Grammar, Stories, Songs, Poetries, Aathichudi, Thirukkural & Vocabulary words


Grammar:

இலக்கணச் சொல் வகைகள் – வினைமுற்று, பெயரெச்சம், வினையெச்சம், புணர்ச்சி வார்த்தைகள் & வகைகள்.


Achievement:

Complete knowledge of spoken and written language in Tamil. Students will be able to give a speech or act in front of the audience to develop their PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS.




Nilai Seven

Age Criteria: 12+ Years

Pre-requisite: Ability to translate a given English passage to Tamil and vice-versa.

Knowledge of difference between spoken and written language.

Understand basic இலக்கணச் சொல் வகைகள், புணர்ச்சி வார்த்தைகள் & வகைகள் and வேற்றுமை வகைகள்.


Syllabus: 

In this level, students will learn:


Writing:

Comprehend a passage and gain the ability to Expository writing in Tamil.

Introduction to essay writing.


Content includes:

Lessons,Grammar, Stories, Songs, Poetries, Aathichudi, Thirukkural & Vocabulary words


Grammar:

செய்வினை, செயப்பாட்டுவினை வாக்கியங்கள், வாக்கியம் அமைத்தல், ஒலி வேறுபாடு சொற்கள், கருத்து அறிதல் and கதை / கட்டுரை எழுதுதல்.


Reading:

Students are provided with a class library book to read for at least 10 minutes per day. The reading minutes are logged and students with maximum reading log minutes are rewarded during their presentation.


Achievement:

Students will be able to write essays in Tamil. Also, the students will be able to give a speech/compere or act in front of the audience, to develop their PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS.


Nilai Eight 

Age Criteria: 13+ Years

Pre-requisite: High-level understanding of the given topic. Essay writing and Speaking on a given topic fluently.


Syllabus: 


Writing:

Essay writing on a given topic.

Project Presentation. 


Content includes:

Lessons, Grammar, Stories, Songs, Poetries, Aathichudi, Thirukkural & Vocabulary words


Grammar:

நேர்க்கூற்று – அயற்கூற்று; அடுக்குத் தொடர் – இரட்டைக் கிளவி; கூட்டு வாக்கியங்களைப் பிரித்தல் – தொடர்புள்ள தனி வாக்கியங்களை இணைத்தல்; ஒலி வேறுபாட்டுச் சொற்கள்; 


Achievement:

Students will acquire sufficient cultural awareness to be comfortable in typical exchanges with native speakers. Students will be able to give a speech/compere or act in front of the audience and showcase their PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS. Students are aware of phonetics usage and grammar usage in their communication. Impromptu essay writing on a given topic.


Capstone Project:

Students demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between the practices and perspectives of Tamil culture, and ability to appreciate poetry.


Nilai Eight - Avant Preparation

            Special Training will be given to the students who are appearing for the AVANT exam.
